"Israel has long maintained that settlements were built on "state lands," or areas not registered in anyone's name" By what legal mechanism does the State of Israel get the power to deal with land outside its state even if the land or "areas are not registered in anyone's name"? An equivalent would be for Canada to declare that because portions of the State of Michigan are not registered in anyone's name, then Canada is entitled to build settlements there and to populate them and claim title to them. As well, U.N. Security Council Resolutions 242 and 465 specifically prohibit these land appropriations. The arrogance involved in these outrageous land thefts is absolutely breath-taking.
