Having known Segev's writing for many years I was not completely surprised to see the embarrassing disdain with which he describes two powerful women. One of them may be more talented than the other, and one may indeed be closer to executive capacities than the other. Still, both are obviously skilled to perform more than functionally in a world deemed masculine by individuals of Segev's stock. I am not surprised, but my disgust is nonetheless deep and quite distressing. Some men in the middle east, although of European extraction, have certainly adopted the worst traits of middle eastern culture: another woman hater. No less. Imagine a serious journalist woman opening her article as she pokes fun on any man's masculinity, or on Tom Segev's one. Come on.
