Mr Yakobson seems to think that a "bi-national" state would only work in developed countries such as Belgium. He fails to remember the most similar case to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: South Africa. There, the dominant white population refused to grant equal rights to blacks, fearing that civil war, ethnic cleansing and collapse would ensue. In the end, South Africa did just fine, and both communities live in peace despite the difficulties. The only way out to the Israeli apartheid is to end segregation and embrace all the inhabitants of the Holy Land as equals.
