    Though the common wisdom is that the disengagement will have the impact of an earthquake, I believe that once done (and it will be eve if somewhat unpleasant in the doing), the dust will settle and the political lines will be reinstated as if nothing happened. The same arguments and the same arguers will be heard as we limp forward to the next crisis over Judea and Samaria, with the interesting difference that Sharon can again reallign with his party. There will be no internal dialogue which reaches a consensus Israeli position. Each side in the divide is defined and defines himself by the fact of the side they are on. The palestinians will more than likely supply each side continuing amunition, heart rendering suffering of simple people and fanatical jew hating murder and propaganda by the "Holy Minority". All our roles are preordained at this point.
