I agree with the majority of your list, but it is disingenuous to include 1, 8 & 9 in the mix. Despite many years of playing nice, the peace process has not broken through. And while I am not a big fan of the “bull in the china shop” tactics these items represent, it is fair to try them to break through the deadlock. I think most Israelis, most Diaspora Jews and most Americans strongly believe that the final status agreement must include recognition of Israel as The Jewish State (as per UN 181) and renouncing any further claims or “right of return” to the Jewish state beyond whatever is negotiated in the agreement with the Palestinians. And perhaps it does take the “bull in the china shop” to get this firmly in the diplomatic agenda given previous failures.
