Why can't Jewish Americans and all Jews be a little excited for a few days of the accomplishment of having a record breaking number of jews in congress. It doesn't make us any less American, just adds a bit of pride. American politicians and Americans in general have and want a connection with their ancestors/roots, their "motherland". As Jews we are seen as traitors or not loyal for feeling pride or pointing out accomplishments. Besides the cultural and religious aspects of being a jew, most jews were either kicked out or fled the country they . So their heritage and "homeland" is judiasm. Irish Catholic Americans were happy when JFK was elected and so were many non ICA's. Near where I live there are Puerto Rican flags all over, Irish American homes have Irish flags and so do almost all Irish bars.... that doesn't make them any less American. Jews are Americans, and Jewish politicians are looking to make American's lives a little bit better.

from the article: First thought on most Jewish Congress ever: Wow. Second thought: Oy
