Obtaining an additional passport is certainly done simply because for some, it's possible to do, but that doesn't explain why people are sufficiently motivated to do so. Gideon's article suggests that many are fearful, and uncertain of the future, and I'm sure he's right, however, no mention is made of the evolution Israeli society is taking. There are some 200,000 - 300,000 people who simply don't want to live in the society that's evolving. Enough xenophobia, enough blustering, enough hubris, enough military adventures, enough rejection of the outside world, enough religious fanaticism, enough political paralysis. If someone were looking for a future occupation, I would suggest investing in suitcases.
