4 Billion dollars worth of solar panels would be a non-recurring investment that would provide 1 billion watts (if my math is correct, at a conservative 4 usd per watt) of near maintenance free electricity (albeit during the day) Forget all the environmental considerations and tell me why our country shouldn't invest in Solar when (even at current prices, without subsidies) it is cheaper in the long run.
