As a Jew and an Israeli, while the personal comments about Jews being "obnoxious" are contemptible (and silly as Kissinger was a Jew), his stating that America would "It wouldn't be U.S. concern if U.S.S.R sent Jews to gas chambers" is nothing that should shock. Virtually everyone in the free world, myself included, was aware of the wholesale genocide in the Sudan. While I would be willing to donate some money, sign a petition, etc... I would certainly NOT want to send my Israeli kids off to war to fight and die to protect the people of southern Sudan. It's not something that I am proud of, but it's not something that I am ashamed of either. No person is willing, or should be asked, send their kids off to die for another country. There are certainly some noble souls in the world who might do so, but I'm not one of them and neither are 98% of the world. Expecting people to send their children off to fight on behalf of another country is simply unreasonable and unfair. That the US did not want to get into a nuclear was with Russia over Jewish refusnikcs is a perfectly sane attitude. I did not send my kids off to fight to Sudanese and I wouldn't expect anyone to send their kids off to fight for me.
