This is one of the smartest pieces I've read in Haaretz for a long long time. And it's strange to hear it from Aluf Benn, who usually is a dull centrist. It's so true, like Zeev (#7) points out: Israeli governments are experts when it comes to appearing as moderate and openminded, while at the same time backing positions which in fact makes it impossible to achieve peace.
