That's what my history teacher taught me in England, when for two years from 13 - 15 we studied the second world war, the rise of Hitler, his hideous use of propoganda, the Holocaust and the creation of Israel Pity he wasn't very good at his job - I and my classmates were left with a profound sense of shame for the centuries of anti semitism Jews had suffered in europe (including england, my teacher told me), and were very supportive of the creation of the state of Israel. I still do beleive in Israel's right to exist in peace and security in the mddle east - like EVERYONE I KNOW, but am continually and progressively more appalled by the reality of Israels actions in the occupied territories, and abroad. LIKE EVERYONE I KNOW. Anti semitism is a horrific and insidious form of racism, and everything must be done to stop it. Like all racism, including Islamophobia.
