Does Haaretz really think how Gaza transformed after a unilateral withdrawal giving it to the PA, then seeing turn into a base for Hamas and radical Islamists sworn to Israel's destruction is an aberration? Abbas is now into his third unelected year, his term of office actually expiring over three years ago, with no new elections planned. The PA is unelected and illegitimate. Haaretz thinks a deal with the PA in which the same handover -- this time of Judea/Samaria, and presumably East Jerusalem -- is at least the paper it's printed on, worth Israel risking its security on? And what does Haaretz say is Israel's Plan B if these areas do indeed fall to Hamas as did Gaza?
