Russia is more afraid of instability in Iran than it is of a Nuclear Armed Iran. To put it in Iranian terms, they don't know if a bigger Satan will come out of Iran if Ahmadi doesn't get his way. China on the other hand has some kind of symbiotic relationship with the West because of Nixon and Kissinger, so they just want to make sure their oil arrives on time. Well, how is Russia going to be so secure with Iran handing out nukes to every radical Muslim with a grudge against the West? That doesn't rule out a nuke or two being passed along the food chain to someone on Russia or China's borders. That's why we have to stay in Iraq; to convince everyone that regime change is an option in Iran also. I get it, but does everyone else? Oil and Militant Islam! Eccch!
