If you mean that anybody with a modicum of charisma who stands up and preaches is messianic (note the small 'm'), I suppose Lior qualifies. The real problem exists between those who demand a secular Israel and those who still hold to the religion of God's Laws. The interpretation of the Law has always been left to the Rabbis who have mostly skewed it to support any position that would give the Jews an edge over the heathens. But, the Law itself demands that it be enforced with strict equality over the Jew and the Gentile alike. And, it is in that respect that the Rabbis fail and fall short of the Glory of God. They strain at a gnat and swallow whole the camel, as the saying goes. The willfull taking of a life, either Jew or Gentile, is murder if it is done under circumstances other than self-defence. Period. No exceptions. Not for Jews. Not for Gentiles.
