Hate speech is a crime in many, many jurisdictions. And I suppose your fine if someone were to state that "Muslims are dirty, violent, stupid, unrefined, delusional, dangerous, etc.". I'm not. Hate speech, even if not a crime is morally unacceptable and dangerous. It is the kind of speech, which if accepted by society, can lead to mayhem and killing. Hope you rethnk your position on this. I admire her work with respect to human rights in Egypt but, given her attack on an identifiable group, especially one which in the Arab world has been persecuted, she shouldn't be honoured. In no uncertain terms, she should be disgraced. Of course, give the comments that Morsi has made about Jews, why is this at all surprising. And, one more point. None of what I say, and none of the reaction to the virulent anti-Jewish comments she has made, is a concession that her anti-Israeli comments have any justification. Israelis are entitled to defend themsevles. The state of Israel is all about provided sanctuary, in a homeland that Jews never left voluntarily, for a People that have been persecuted genocidally throughout history, including in the Arab nations. Failing to recognize that Israel, who record is not perfect, has legitimacy and is entitled to defend herself, in substance is anti-Jewish.
