    ...a transition towards democracy is dangerous. Keep in mind that we didn´t see this change coming. This probably means that we don´t see what is cooking right now and is about to develop and materialize. It´s true that Egypt is not Tunisia, not Gaza, not Jordan and not Lebanon. And so on. There are unique parameters in Egypt. But after so many years of repression, in a country with 80 million people (!), surely there must be a huge number of subcultures and sentiments that simply were not detectable, and that may now creep forward. The countries in eastern Europe, that after so many years of communism suddenly were given openess and freedom, have actually been sleepy and stable. But in Ukraine, things have been messy with fistfights in the parlament and periods of political stalemate and even paralysis. Now - let´s see what happens in Egypt. Maybe we´ll be surprised again - either in a positive or negative way.
