However, if you took a slightly longer look -- and factored in the German invasions of Poland, France, Russia, the German attacks on England and Holland, the Atlantic war -- then US conduct in 1944 and 1945 does not seem as incomprehensibly vicious. Israel governed just within the Green Line between 1949 and 1967 -- and murderous Arab terrorist attacks were a constant trauma. These Arab terrorists, called fedayeen, typically crossed the Green Line from the West Bank and Gaza. The ruling powers at the time, respectively Jordan, which had annexed the West Bank, and Egypt, did nothing to impede these assaults, and evidently encouraged them. One such terror attack sparked the 1956 war. The history of the past 100 years must be considered, and more, not just the grievances of today and the pat, silly answers that some offer. "Apartheid" exists today, in varying degrees, in many states in Western Europe, and certainly in Asia ...
