The opening should be permanent and the US should work with Egypt to help make the opening permanent, not just indefinite. And any and all aid to Gaza should go through Rafah or the Gaza port. A ban on weapons and an Israeli right to inspect ships bound for Gaza at sea should maybe be allowed. But the siege needs to be lifted. Israeli politicians should have no control except for weapons, and only while the state of war still is in place with the Palestinians, the one that started in 1967. Israel did more with the Marmara assault to aid Gaza than otherwise possible, but only so long as Israeli politicians stay in charge.
