    an important obstacle to establishing a palestinian state is the emotional baggage that many jews and arabs carry regarding their historic historic ties with this land........for us the jewish people it is the bible ......the miraculous establishment of the third jewish commonwealth ......the ambivalent position on partition during the mandatory times was shared not only by the religious jews but also by the left wing socialist ahdut haavoda ..........would it help if we included a clause in any agreement providing for a referendum every 50 years where if 75% or so of the jews and 75% of the palestinians agreed the one country concept will be reconsidered
