Obama has so far showed no intention of leaning aggressively on Europe, and with the Soviet Union inching towards open declaration in favor of statehood, he will likely be more cautious how to deal with the issue and Europe will decidedly be more resistant to his pressures. “Launching the negotiations process will postpone September and maybe even produce some success.” So, as usual, negotiations are only a means of delaying Palestinian independence while Israel grabs more land. But the most precious jewel comes at the end: She sees no hope for peace with Hamas, “because they represent religious ideology and there is no way to solve religious conflict”. Rich, no?
