Sharon's approach and unilateral decision to secure Israel is the only possible path that could be taken given the chaos in the PA and Hamas's rise to power. The PM's primary mandate is to Israel and not to the Palestinians, a fact that gets lost in the politics of Israel's left wing. They are so concerned with what's going on in the PA that they forget that the Jewish State, it's preservation and security, are the first priority not only for Sharon but for all elected officials. It is clear that the PA has not taken control of its people and has not cracked down on the terrorists so doing what is right for Israel is the only option. It seems to me that Sharon's critics are not interested in maintaining the Jewish State and are actually assisting the terrorist enemy by eroding the Zionist ideal from within.
