ariel sharon, current Prime Minister -- big name in the Israeli politics -- a bigger name on the Jewish agenda. We wish him a speedy and healthy recovery. The point is -- Israel and the Jewish world does not "rest" on one man alone -- it is the succession of men who give their lives so that the State lives -- and it will. The second point is-- from tomorrow on -- the politics of Israel will include the unknown -- who is to succeed Ariel Sharon -- that is a question with no answer -- and it is part of the Israeli psyche -- leave no heir apparent...unlike the neighboring regimes ( i.e. Syria) where the heir apparent is the son (whether fit or not is of no importance)...voila...interesting difference. The Israeli way is called democracy.
