Just like his new friend and mentor Shimon Peres, who after losing the election proclaimed that the Israelis lost, but the Jews won, Sharon has put up a security barrier between Jews and Israelis and is slowly forcing everyone to choose which one he prefers to be. He doesn't have any connection with Diaspora Jewry because he doesn't care about such sentimentalities. He is the leader of the modern State of Israel, a Liberal Hebrew Speaking "democracy" which only coincidentally happens to reside in Biblical Israel. He is interested in secure borders, international relations, and most of all making more and more money. Judaism and the worldwide plight of the Jewish people fall very low on his list of priorities. What Mr Sharon does not realize is that his plan is backfiring. Many loyal "Israelis" are moving over to the camp of the "Jews" and if this trend keeps up, he will be beginning his retirement in the near future. Not only is he alienating the worldwide Jewish community but his own friends and former supporters. I strongly suggest that he retire now and still be remembered as a hero instead of the man who single-handedly tore apart Israel and the Jewish People.
