    The Hareidi lifestyle requires full time torajh study at least till one is married. No 18 year old soldier will reman Hareidi without a firm grounding in Torah. That's the way it's done all over the world, in the US, Canada and UK. It would be a shame if all Hareidim would have to leave Israel to remain at their level of relgiousit. How can their be a Jewish state without Torah. However, they should definitely be drafted in the 20s and share some of the burden. Perhaps some financial penalty should be involved to weed out those that are not serious about Torah study.
