Tzvi Shalit is right. Netanyahu (and Barak) have decided that Shalit will rot away and die in Gaza. Israel no longer cares for the soldiers. So why should the coming generations agree to be combat-soldiers? This is a big and dramatic change in Israel. Netanyahu is not thinking of possible terror-attacks by released prisoners, and he is not thinking about Shalit and his family. Netanyahu is thinking about this issue as a parameter and a pawn in a bigger game - and he is playing it in order to stop the establishment of a palestinian state. Hence, Netanyahu believes that Gilad Shalit has to be sacrifized. Who will be the next "korban"? Your or my son/daughter?
