-To give such repeated exposure to the one- note anti- Israel ranting of Gideon Levy is to do injustice to your readers. Which readers? You have a very peculiar notion of a free press. This newspaper often runs columnists whose views I find appalling, but that is their right. A newspaper if it is worth its salt must run articles by writers who speak to various constituencies, otherwise it becomes a propagandistic rag for a monotone POV. Mr Levy's 'repeated' exposure is due to the fact that everything that could be said on the Israel-Palestinian question has been said dozens of times decades ago. No one in a position of influence seems to listen, and that is why people like Mr Levy are important. They remind us, as in Andersen's fable of the Emperor's clothes, that the obvious truths are forgotten, or invisible, while the world runs wild-eyed towards fantasies of utopia on the narrow-gauge, tried and true tracks of disaster.
