Thank you for comments BG. I believe that the conflict with israel though important to Hamas in its own terms is also and primarily the vehicle , or the means for Hamas to gain in power untill through a combination of defacto military power and dejure political power they will move to ceate an Islamic republic. I believe this is their goal. The violence against Israel served an important internal purpose, they knew Israel would not only them but the PA, Hamas motivated by the Al Ha Rasi al Ha Rasak concept is willing to take high casualties and their leaders are willing to expose themsleves to death in order to achieve their aims.I beleive Hamas will do or not do what it thinks will best advance it to its goals of an Islamic republic with "Islamic democracy" Yes I do worry about them Ben Gurion they are a highly motivated well trained disciplined group willing to give all to achieve their aims. They have understood how to participate in democracy as a means of subverting it. All the diabolical totalitarians know that trick and so does Hamas. Yes I am worried about Hamas , as they grow stronger even if Yossi sarid was PM the opportunity would have passed. We are in for many more years of attrition, this story is far from over, in fact Hamas is just starting up untill now it was doing the groundwork. I hope I am wrong as you suggest Ben Gurion but I dont think so. Regards as usual Danite(the usual one not the Commissar- Jewsih Section did you like that little touch?)
