The White House should to some extent, link Israel's behavior regarding settlements to continuing economic and military support. Israel has no real interest in settling the Palestinian issue in a just way. This conflict fuels arab terrorism more than all other issues combined. Israel knows this fact and yet has no desire to do its part toward international peace and justice. To all too many Israelis, justice is held hostage by their remembrance of Nazi atrocities and the horrific Holocaust. Remember your family and friends, the disgraceful injustice of it all, vow to ensure that it will never happen again, and then move on. For the sake of Arab-Israeli peace and perhaps peace worldwide, please display the same enlightened compassion that you expect from everyone else as we enter the new millennium.
