As far as I can see there are roughly three types of settlements in the occupied West Bank: 1) the concrete blocks in and around East Jerusalem that function like the Paris' banlieue; 2) the commuter settlements, housing people who mainly work at Tel Aviv and return in the evening; 3) the settlements of the fanatics who live on government grants and make trouble. Peace can only be achieved by three measures: a) stop the compliance with the fanatics and apply the law; b) stop the discrimination of non-Jews; c) give full citizen rights to all inhabitants on the West Bank.
