You are both confused as to the whys and wherefores of the Israeli exit from Gaza. 1. It was not a goodwill gesture to anybody. 2. It was an economic move to save Israeli money. Occupations are expensive and maintaining tens of thousands of troops to protect a few thousand settlers made no economic sense. So Israel cut its losses and converted from active occupation to siege. It did not, however give up it's occupying authority. 3. Not a single day has gone by since the end of the Disengagement when the territory was not under siege or invasion. There was NEVER any good will.
