The army should take who it really needs, according to real health standards, not according to ethnicity. Therefore, a significant portion of healthy Jews, Christians, Druze, Muslims, Buddhists, Athiests, etc. should be selected to serve as representatives of their communities, while other members of their respective communities do civil service. Also: * Those chosen for selective mandatory service will serve 2 years. Those who sign for more years will be compensated fairly. * Everyone will have the opportunity to volunteer for the military before being subjected to the selective service system. * Those who volunteer for service will sign on for at least 3 years, have maximum preference of where they serve, and better financial compensation. * Those who choose not to volunteer will be entered into a selective service lottery system. They will either be drafted for a two year stint without personal preferences, or discharged for civilian service.
