I cannot get over the disingenousness of the conservative and reform rabbis and followers who swing into action over this arrest - bemoaning the lack of religious pluralism in Israel, yet remain noticeably and consistently silent when Jews are arrested for simply closing their eyes on the Temple Mount. The pervasive self-serving hypocrisy which saturates these movements is stunning but, unfortunately, no longer surprising. They pay heavy moralizing lip-service to the holy principles of pluralism and respect for all - all that are like them ir under their poltical patronage and protection. Temple Mount? Sorry - no pluralism allowed in "occupied territory." It would almost be amusing if it wasnt so shameful and demonstrably hateful. I used to be reform, then conservative, and very active in Hashomer Hatzair. I am so pleased I left.
