It's beyond chutzpah for anyone to be demanding Pollard's release when we are weeks away from a AIPAC spy case. The whole point of punishment is to deter others. It seems to me Pollards special high profile status and light treatment has only embolden Jews post Pollard affair. I don't know if the death penalty would be a better deterent and since I'm apposed to it in general, I can't make the case for it regarding Pollard but something has to be done. American officials need to let every Jew in Israel and in America know, Pollard WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY--PERIOD. I don't know which part of a "life sentence" these morons calling for his release don't get. I don't have much praise for Tenet, whether his handling of pre-911,mediator in Palestinian/Israeli conflict, or Iraq but on Pollard he is right on. From what I read, not only Tenet would have resigned, many in the CIA were prepared to leave as well. I just wish Tenet would expound more on the 400 Mossad operatives rounded up weeks before 9-11 mentioned in the DEA report.
