Gideon Levy long ago forfeited any claim to being an objective journalist. His agenda is transparent, i.e., to cause harm to Israel and its people. Consequently, his intellectual analysis is flawed. The government of Israel could resist all pressure from the U.S. with impunity if it wished. Even if the White House and State Department are displeased, the Congress will never allow serious sanctions to be imposed on Israel. The U.S. will continue to supply Israel with all the financial and military support it needs. Now is the time for Israel to take all necessary steps to defend itself, including sealing the border with Gaza using overwhelming military force on both Iran and the Palestinian terrorists, and making arrangements to transfer the Palestinians unwilling to live in peace in Israel to their real homeland in Jordan. Israel will be all the safer for it, and the U.S. will provide the support.
