Tony, your views are well known, but for those who support a 2 state solution as the only realistic way for two peoples to express their very different national aspirations, the goal should be to guarantee Israelis security in the broadest sense and provide Palestinians with meaningful sovereignty in a contiguous land. Both sides finally seem close to mutual recognition, or perhaps can be pushed to go where their courage fails to lead them. Handing over political power to Palestinians is the simpler part - some of that has already been done. It's the giving up of military control over areas so near to Israel's population centers that has always been the Gordian knot. If only Israel's antagonists in Kopenhagen and elsewhere realized how much they could accomplish by addressing that knot, they'd see the political handover would come much more easily.
