The Turkish Sultan also could not accept Sebatai Zevi and his desire to take a piece of land from the Sultan and return to Zion; also who was this Sebatai to usurp the Sultan? End of the worldism was popular in the 17th century and among Christians. After a massacre of the Jews, Zevi incorporated it and decided that a return to Zion would redeem the people and be their salvation. Zionism is a reality; Turks and muslims should accept the fact. What has happened in the muslim world is that with huge unemployment and poverty, these extreme radicals give the poor charity, which the govt. should, but may not be able to give them. Then they run candidates from the Islamist party. It is a version of communism. So, the disappearance or weakness of the Left is bad. Someone, after all, has to feed and take care of the poor. It should be the govt which also tolerates all religions and separates church from state. The Turkish state is up for grabs as are all muslim countries. They should look to Iran to see how terrible it can be when a radical islamist govt. takes over. I would not like to live in a country like Iran.
