This is a ludicrous and insane decision.. The school twinning program between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv has affected the Jewish -Israeli connection between thousands of children and parents in both communities for the last 11 years and is major acheivment for both communities. The officials in the Ministry of Education must be blind not to understand the significance of human relationships in bringing Jewish Identity and Diaspora-Israel into the educational process. To destroy this incredibly valuable program is an act of stupidity. No Israeli child was left out for financial reasons. Scholarships have been available where the need existed. This has been an intense Jewish educational program for children and parents in both communities and not a gauzy trip to Disneyland. For shame Mr. Minister and colleagues. You have shot yourself in the foot. To say that no one knew about the program is simply false.
