Sarkozy was maybe a good friend of Israel, but he was also a good friend of Kadafi (before he killed him), a good friend of the Qatar (that is buying France today), and looked at jews probably like people who can do business. But come on, who was the frist president to come to Israel? A socialist, Francois Mitterrand. Also on the economic side, of course let's not spend too much money, but let's spend it on the right things that add value to the country, i.e. education, research. Sarkozy was able to spend a lot of money for his industrial friends. (e.g. nationalise Alstom to sell it to his friend Bouygues afterwards) Do you think that was right?
