As a non-left Israeli (I hate facile categorizations) I have always respected Sarid who has stood out by his integrity and sharp mind. Nevertheless: As Israel gets more wealthy, the Left ought to grow exponentially. The rich Left loves to call stridently for the "just" redistribution of the taxes they so skillfully and hypocritically avoid paying. Sarid's integrity might yet allow him to understand the bitter truth, namely that the noble aspirations of social reform have long ago degenerated into the narcissistic pasttimes of those who have it all... I think of Micheal Moore who owns HALIBURTON shares and lives in a posh community (of 1200 families) with not a single black tenant. Or Edward Kennedy, who wants to tax the rich to pay for social welfare, but keeps his own stash off-shore and gets away with paying only two percent per annum! Hypocrisy shall yet destroy all of Western civilisation. Yossi, you are better than that, so let's hear it!

from the article: With such a left, who needs a right?
