The U.S. has been sanctioning Cuba for the past 50 years and ordered the EU to follow suit. The U.S. sanctioned Mao*s China also for 50+ years. The U.S. ordered sanctions on Iraq, too, which lasted 10 years. The only ones to suffer from sanctions are ordinary people. Naturally sanctions hold back progress and the availability of life*s necessaties, but despite them, nations do survive. Personally I do not support inflicting pain and suffering on people through sanctions. It is simply evil: an effort to psychologically and eventually also physically crush people and their spirit. The Tanach (Bible) says that "G-D curses those, who keep bread behind their backs from the people" ... therefore I do hope Israel will keep G-D*s Commandments, also this one.
