As is so common from those on the fringes of traditional Judaism, they confuse our tolerance and appreciation of the freedoms we have as a consequence of the secular values of America and some other Western democracies with the values articulated for thousands of years by traditional Jewish scholars. There is absolutely no support whatsoever, zero, none, in traditional Judaism for same-sex marriage. But as minorities in the Diaspora we have no right and no desire to impose our values on others. But that does not mean that those who would pretend to be leaders - especially teachers - in our community should espouse and preach completely unJewish values and behaviours to our own community. If two women or two men wish to live together so be it. But please don't call it a Jewish 'marriage' and most definitely please don't try to mislead and fool others by calling yourselves 'rabbis'.
