A State for the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza that you so yearn for was ripe for their picking way back in 1948 if they were really interested in building a nation. They could have done a great job in developing their portion of the land over all these years by responsibly spending all the international aid afforded to them. However, this compromise was not something they were at all passionate about back then but they did exhibit great lust for brutally coveting the portion allotted to the Jews, with the help of eager, neighboring Arab armies. The rest is history and should not be re-written to excuse their failure and aggression. The "international community" you solicit to chide Israel will not act as a buffer zone when the militant Palestinians and their choice of belligerent Islamic deliverer of the month assess Israel to be in a vulnerable enough position to attack them again and this time to succeed.
