Sadly it is not the last occupation on earth. But it is one of the few occupations maintained by a State which claims to be democratic. However, the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan also fit that criteria. Where the occupation of Palestine is different to these is that Israel uses the occupation to continue to colonise and to dispossess the indigenous Palestinians. The Chinese do it in Tibet but they don't claim to be democratic. So, where Israel stands alone is as the last colonisation by a democratic country on earth.
