Really, Levy just needs to go on a Nation cruise with Norman Finklestein and relax a little. His legitimate criticism of his country has, over time, become so warped that it reads like communiques from the Mufti Haj Amin. At least Amira Haas will occasionally throw in a line or two noting that Palestinians aren't perfect people, either. To be clear: we can debate the genesis of the conflict, but at this point it's just blindly ideological to claim that releasing thousands of militant Palestinians from jail will lead to a DECREASE on attacks against Israelis. Reading Levy now is like reading an unreconstructed Marxist, or a flat-earther. I admire Ha'aretz's publication of critical voices but at a certain point, when a reporter becomes so untethered from reality, isn't it time to re-evaluate the paycheck? You do the Left no favors by having a madman as its spokesman.
