Your post is very interesting and reflects a lot of the Turkish political realities. Based on what you wrote; 1. Can we say that Countries such as Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt etc. are not ready for a western democracy until the population is better educated in line with the Ataturk?s reforms? 2. Until such a level of education and modernization is achieved do you think an iron fist inside a velvet glove kind of democracy should be applied? As a Turkish born American this is what I believe but I would like to hear your opinion.
