    I did not question yours or your family's academic crendentials. Glad to hear they are all vigrously pursuing their personal interests. Not so glad to hear they are out of touch and apathetic re public and political matters which should concern them indeed. neither did I imply that academics receive grants directly whether from a state or from a corporation. What I did say - and not just imply - is that academics EVERYWHERE do have political responsibilities because they are feeding at the public trough. While regular citizens can afford to be ignorant of politics and world affairs, academics are expected to be more knowlegeable. Would happily make the same demand of our US academics - and do, BTW, every chance I get (in which I indulge muchly). Whether boycotts do the trick of moving Israel along on a righteous path I don't know. But maybe they'll wake up many overly comfortable, politically sleepy, non-civic minded academics. PS re academic prostitution: check pharmaceticals
