The US is making every effort in bringing Syria into its sphere of influence. Visits to Damascus, promises of rewards etc. We do not know many of the details, what we do know is that Russia needs Syrian ports, we also know that Moscow has many doubts about the current reset button that has yet to be implemented. Russia and Israel have excellent relations, both share common values, both are partners in military upgrading. The question of these missiles or other types of weaponry, should not become some Machiavellian Russian manoeuvre against Israel. Anti ship missiles are a dime to a dozen, can be bought from China or the DPRK. The Hanit,a Saar Class 5 Corvette, was hit by such a missile, mainly because the ships jamming systems were cold, that is for reasons yet to be explained. One can surmise that once a system is hot, its fairly easy to locate. Though a missile would have extreme difficulty in striking. One can be sure, that Russia will not sell any country weapons that are considered anywhere equal in sophistication that is currently used by their military. No country in the middle east, plans too attack Israel, not by conventional means. Syria, in this instance, has no wish to become a target either. The real issue is US and Russian influence and competition in Syria, which no doubt will create problems, not unlike present US adventures that we have seen in the last 9 years. Good day, well over the fast.
