Avigdor Lieberman emigrated from Russia, learned Hebrew, a language to which he as not native, enrolled and graduated university while working at a non-university job. He began as a bouncer in a nightclub and was quickly promoted to manager. We can only respect a man with such a background, a man who utilized his wits, strength and intelligence to achieve so much on his own and his countrymen's behalf. He established Yisrael Beiteinu so that Russian immigrants would have a much needed voice in Israeli affairs. Today, his party represents a large and ever growing spectrum of Israelis. His detractors fear and condemn him for his forthright attitudes and honest speech. Those who respect Lieberman honour him for his realistic appraisal of the current political situation in Israel today and his avoidance of politically correct platitudes.
