Rubenstein is correct in observing that talk has failed to end the occupation. Resistance got Israel out of Sinai, south Lebanon and Gaza. Only possible conclusion is resistance works and talk is a waste of time. Rubenstein is wrong when he concludes that a few lousy jobs in Israel will moderate the Palestinians. What they want is their freedom. Resistance will continue until they get it unless talk is proven a viable alternative. The upcoming summit is an oportunity to demonstrate that negotiation can produce results. It would be tragic if it failed to do so.
