"This is the price a state pays for exceeding both its borders and its logic." It was not being in Gaza that was the problem,that kept Israel secure. It was the unexplained, unilateral sharon withdrawal at the same time as family corruption scandals were emerging. It is possible that these ex-residents, and Israeli security, are paying the price of Israeli political corruption which appears boundless and without constraints of imagination.
